Wet Extraction Techniques

SRS has developed technology for extraction of lipids from concentrated wet algae that eliminates the cost and energy consumption of the drying step required by other extraction methods. SRS has successfully employed this technique to economically extract lipids from several algae types grown in open ponds or photobioreactors. The patent pending technology combines standard scalable unit operations in a novel way under proven conditions to repeatably extract the highest levels of lipids from algae.

Integrated Technology Platform

SRS is licensing the extraction process technology to algae producers, and working together with them on design optimization of integrated biorefineries. Harvesting and dewatering of algae, decolorization, integrated fuel production, biomass utilization, and water reuse are many of the areas SRS focuses on to assist algae producers in creating a cost effective platform
